The Division of Forensic Sciences provides the highest quality forensic services for our customers, through accuracy and utilization of advanced technology. DOFS values customer service by the oriented teams of professionals that are continuously motivated and by employing those who are accountable and responsible individuals whose effectiveness is reflected in their leadership and intelligence.

The Division of Forensic Sciences offers a full range of scientific services for the law enforcement community. DOFS is organized into six scientific disciplines and the Medical Examiner’s Office that contribute to these services:

• Chemistry - Drug Identification and Fire Debris

• Firearms - Firearms and Toolmarks

• Forensic Biology – DNA and Serology

• Impressions - Friction Ridge Detection and Collection, Friction Ridge Examination, and Footwear

• Toxicology - Blood Alcohol, DUI and post-mortem Toxicology

• Trace Evidence - Fibers, Glass, Gunshot Residue, Hair, Paints and Polymers

• Medical Examiner - Forensic pathology services
